Hell yeah I would. Still looks fantastic with those steelies. Here's some more:

I love all of this stuff. Makes me think I should've got the base model of my car.

Will base spec make it break down less?

I couldn't afford one :( Insurance, fuel and tax were too high.

There'd be less stuff to break down, so yes I suppose?

I have said it more times than I can count - best drive ever was my cousin's '76 2002. BMW needs to make a base ... 2 series? Manual seats, crank windows, crank sunroof, all the safety shit but just basic traction control and ABS - nothing fancy. Put steelies on it, and sell it for $19,995 without a radio or carpeting. 2.0 liter four, five speed gearbox ... ugh, and it'll never happen.

About 15-20mpg difference in economy, £150 a year difference in tax and £400 a year in insurance.

There's this base 4-series in the gallery...
I didn't orinally put it in the post ... I feel like a super-base wouldn't have fancy chrome grilles, intricate lights, and mirror-mounted turn signals.

No I mean, physical differences, to justify the extra expenses.

Yeah it does seem like a decent upgrade. About 3.5 seconds off the 0-60, much better suspension, more kit and nicer overall interior. The diesel has a fair bit of body roll and skinny tyres mean I often spin them pulling away quickly and understeer a bit. The 100 gets rid of some of that, so the suspension and wheels are the biggest upgrade.

I have always preferred the look of the steel-wheeled 2002 to the turbine rimmed ones.

This may be my favorite thing ever. Can I get it with rubber floor covering instead of carpet, like a base-model pickup truck?

This is so awesome. My only criticism is that the plastic bumpers go too high on the front of all the cars, I don't think it should go over the grille...

That's simply how high the plastic bumper parts go on the cars. The idea is to simulate an unpainted plastic bumper cover.
